It is with great regret that I have to inform you that the Rush Champions Cup this weekend is canceled. Over the last two weeks the Virginia Beach area was hit with anywhere between 8-12 inches of precipitation that at times had our fields frozen solid. In an effort to give the fields as much time possible to recover we carefully monitored the process that the field staff took to get the fields playable over the weekend and held out on schedules. However, looking into the weather for the week we are forecasted to have 3 more days of rain and another possible inch of mixed winter precipitation on Thursday. With this forecast my staff and I can no longer deem these fields will be safe and playable come this weekend. In a effort to give teams plenty of time to cancel their travel reservations we had to make this decision today.
We encourage all teams to sieze the opportunity to roll their registration fee into our much larger Ralph Downey Memorial Day Classic event, May 23rd and 24th, 2015. This event will be associated with much warmer weather and excellent competition to close out your Spring Seasons. We have already received applications from teams traveling from Canada, Ohio, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

The 2015 Rush Champions Cup will be an all level Spring preseason event that will focus on ensuring quality matches for all teams. The competition is a great event to lead your team into their Spring season and/or Spring State Cup! The Rush Champions Cup is an unrestricted tournament sanctioned by VYSA. All US Youth State Association member teams, US Club Soccer teams and other national affiliate teams may apply.
The Rush Champions Cup guarantees each team 3 matches, 2 Saturday and one on Sunday.
NOTE: Payments must be received by February 19, 2015.
Once your team is accepted into the Rush Champions Cup you will need to complete the team registration process. The registration process is to be completed electronically be emailing or faxing the following information to our office NLT March 1st.
Teams are required to submit the following documents to register for verification of eligibility:
1. Original and two (2) copies of the team's Duly Authorized Official State Roster with Jersey numbers.
2. Duly Authorized US Youth Soccer Member Passes or other National Affiliate Member Passes for each player.
3. Medical Release Form for each player signed by the parent or guardian. Medical Releases are not required to be notarized. If you team does not have a medical release form already completed for all players please Click Here for the Medical Release form.
4. Duly Authorized Permission to Travel issued by the team's US Youth Soccer State Association or other National Affiliate.
5. Guest Player authorization as required by the team's US Youth Soccer State Association or other National Affiliate.
US Youth Soccer Region 1 teams are not required to present Permission to Travel within Region 1. New Jersey and Connecticut state association teams are required by their home state to obtain Permission to Travel. US Youth Soccer Region 2, 3, and 4 teams are required to present and Approved Permission to Travel from their state association to attend Rush Champions Cup.
